The Journey: 30 for 30 Challenge

I’m starting a journey on Tuesday, February 1 and I’m taking you with me... it is the 30 for 30 Challenge - Winter Edition.   Kendi from Kendi Everyday puts for this challenge every so often and I’m choosing to accept.  Right now I can picture you scratching your head wondering “What is this 30 for 30?” Well… here are the rules:

1. Pick 30 items or less from your closet. Shoes are included, but accessories and jewelry are not. (Done and done. I’ve got some great belts and scarves and being a Cookie Lee consultant, I have plenty of jewelry to accessorize with!)

2. Remix the 30 items into 30 different outfits. (I’ll try to complete this challenge in approximately 30 days.)

3. Don't shop for 30 days.  (What?!?  No shopping?  But what if there is a great sale?  OMG, deep breath,  I can do this.)
So I’m a little nervous but I think I’ve picked some good items.  You wanna see?

1- Style&Co skirt, 2- NY&Co skirt, 3- Gap, 4- Merona

5- Limited jeans, 6- Marshall's trousers, 7- Loft trousers, 8- Larry Levine cropped trousers

9- Alfani 3/4 length sheer top, 10- Limited short sleeve button down

11- Talbots long sleeve button down, 12- Croft & Barrow 3/4 sleeve button down,
13- H&M long sleeve oversized button down

14- Merona sweater vest, 15- Joseph A. ruffle shoulder sweater

16- Merona 3/4 sleeve cardigan, 17- kikaPaprika 3/4 sleeve jacket

18- NY&Co denim button down, 19- Old Navy short sleeve button down sweater

20- Style&Co jersey blazer, 21- Gap cardigan

22- Mossimo long sleeve t-shirt, 23- Gap long sleeve t-shirt

Sorry, not fixing it
24- Gap maxi dress, 25- Merona shirt dress

26- Merona pumps, 27- Nicole ballet flats, 28- Alfani wingtip oxfor heels

29- Bass knee high boots, 30- Style&Co knee high boots

The purpose of this challenge is to make realize all of the great things in your closet and to learn how to remix them in creative ways.

I really tried to look at the items and stick to a couple of colors for this challenge and I’m hoping that helps me to maximize the amount of outfits I can create.

I had a hard time finding a place to photograph the pieces of clothing to get the best representation of the color.  I may be redoing the photos for better color and organization sake… we’ll see about that.

I will do my best to post daily so we can keep this challenge as close to “real time” as possible.  Wish me luck!

  3. Thanks Molly! I looked back through your last remix, love your combos!
Erica, silly sister - jammies aren't outfits and I don't wear jammies out of the house. And sneaks, well, I'll have to address that!

  4. I love this idea! I'd guess that about half of the clothes in my closet just sit there, unworn... I think I might have to try this out! :)
