It started off with me staring at the 30 items, blinking, and then staring some more. The first day should be the easiest right? Not so. I’m trying to consider what I have going the rest of the week so I don’t choose something today that I really wanted to wear tomorrow. These aren’t good decisions to be making at . I should have thought this through last night.

I like the way the outfit looked but it was filled with two bad choices for today – neither of which could have been predicted. The skirt is a light weight material and today was a super windy one. Every time I went outside I had to hold my hands by my side in order to keep from having a Marilyn “Some Like It Hot” moment. Holding the skirt down was made difficult while traveling back and forth (multiple times) between the two buildings due to the notebook in one hand and trying to keep my hair out of my face with the other. (Fun Fact / Trivia: Chicago is not the windiest city in America . What is the windiest city in the US ?)
On top of the skirt being blown around like crazy, the nylons were not doing me right. I was experiencing the “roll” all day long. I would go to the bathroom to pull them back up, get back to my desk and they would roll right back down – grr! Am I the only one that experiences this??? If I had another pair with me, I would have retired the rollers right on the spot!

Wow, I always felt like the first few weeks were the easiest, but I guess not! Either way, you have ROCKED day one girl!
ReplyDeleteHi! Concerning the nylons: I know exactly what you are talking about! It is so dumb to always have to pull up my nylons (I don't know what manufacturers think, that we are all very short-waisted or what? when the nylons fit my legs perfectly, they are tooooo short) ... after a lot of hassle this winter I have resolved always to buy nylons that are one size too big. Duh! it works, although there is a tiny bit of excess fabric on my legs, but in boots, nobody will notice.
ReplyDeleteLove the black and white with the denim, and how you layered it.
ReplyDeleteTiffany,
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. It's definitely a journey. For me it's not so much the mixing as the photographs. I'm new to personal outfit posting. I'm a jump into the deep end girl, so here goes.
Lots of luck to you!

Thanks Kinsey - I'm glad you're doing the 30 for 30 too!
ReplyDeleteLola - I try to do the same but I must have grabbed the dud pair. They are now in the garbage!
Thanks Lynn - one of my favorite combos.
Deb, saw your first post... awesome. I can't wait to see the combos you come up with!
I had the same problem yesterday! My dress had a fuller skirt that kept blowing up, and my pantyhose kept rolling down. Grrr!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit and even cuter pup!
I think I might invent nylon/tights suspenders for those of us that are plagued by "the roll" - look for it on late night informercials right after the pajama jeans!
